PORTFOLIO - Sci-Fi Designs 2025

A current sampling of some of my original designs and graphics. I grew up with the Gerry Anderson TV series and these continue to inspire me. The incredible futuristic hardware seen in those shows was designed by Derek Meddings and Mike Trim.
I have been working as a Producer in Animation and now I am furthering my interest in creating artwork.

DEEP SPACE EXPLORATION SHIP The large wheel is constantly rotating generating centrifugal force or ‘artificial gravity’. The ship does not do planetary landings so the delicate design is sufficient for space travel.

HYPERION A recent painting of a ship I designed when I was a teenager in the 1980s! I had to make a large scale model and my modelling skills at the time were limited, hence the slab sided design aesthetic.

VILLIERS VINDICATOR This is my design of the fictional nuclear bomber from the Ian Fleming James Bond novel THUNDERBALL. I referenced the three real V Bombers of the day - Vickers Valiant, Handley Page Victor and the Avro Vulcan.

ORIGINAL GREEBLIE Model making for visual effects took a giant leap forward under Derek Meddings' supervision on Thunderbirds and other Gerry Anderson TV shows. they developed the technique known as 'kit-bashing'. This is the most used kit part!

CELEBRATING PLASTIC MODEL KITS Of the 1970s and 80s. Beatties was a chain of hobby shops that sold model kits, trains, modelling accessories etc. My local was the original shop. The other icons represent some of the most popular manufacturers.
